Our Services

    Assistive Technology Services

    The goal of our AT Center is to help reduce learning barriers for students with disabilities that affect physical, cognitive and/or communication skills. Our highly qualified professional AT staff work collaboratively with school districts throughout the state to help educational teams and families identify the most appropriate technology tools or supports for children with a wide range of needs.

    Behavior Services

    TEC provides support to students presenting complex behavioral and instructional needs. Services may include staff training, program development and evaluation, staff support, classroom support, case consultation, behavior management, student assessment, instructional strategies, and family outreach support.

    Interpreter Services

    TEC provides qualified interpreters for the deaf/hard-of-hearing to support participation in educational activities.

    Medicaid Reimbursement Services

    Let TEC help you get reimbursed for your occupational, physical, and speech therapy services.

    No fees whatsoever! We will get your therapist fully credentialed. We will obtain all parental consents.

    Easy Documentation! Our system can replace any paper notes your therapist are currently doing. Your therapist simply enter their data online, and we'll take it from there.

    Occupational Therapy

    School-based occupational therapists (OTs) and certified occupational therapy assistants (COTAs) focus on assisting students to acquire the functional abilities necessary for students to access and participate in their educational program. Services include: assessment of sensory-motor areas and addressing concerns impacting the student’s ability to learn. OTs may help students with daily activities related to educational participation, adapt the performance context, teach alternative methods, or facilitate the use of assistive devices.

    Physical Therapy

    School-based physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapy assistants (PTAs) work with other educational professionals, members of the community and families to help all students engage in their educational activities. This collaboration is also the foundation for promoting the participation of students with disabilities in the general educational environment. PTs assess and provide direct treatment in the areas of safety, access, and mobility and their impact on the student’s ability to learn.

    Professional Development

    TEC offers professional learning opportunities for educators to acquire new skills or advance in the education profession.  TEC creates workshops and brings in nationally-recognized presenters to provide workshops on specific subject areas, instructional practices, and technology skills.

    School Psychology Services

    Schools psychologists may provide a variety of services including: psycho-educational assessments; data based decision making & accountability; communication, collaboration & consultation with school staff and families; development of effective instruction and facilitation of cognitive/academic; individual and group counseling. The school psychologist facilitates functional behavior assessments and the subsequent behavior support plans. These processes culminate by designing behavioral interventions and consulting with teachers to insure successful implementation. Home, school, and community collaboration is central to school psychological services.

    Social Work Services

    Social work services are provided to students, families, and caregivers through the development and delivery of a continuum of comprehensive mental health services. Social workers deliver a wide array of mental health services, which include direct counseling as well as case management services to students and their caregivers. The scope and intensity of the services provided varies according to the social-emotional needs of each student.

    Speech Therapy

    Qualified speech-language professionals seek to maximize a student’s potential in the area of communication to support and increase the student’s participation in their educational curriculum. Communication Assessments may include speech, language, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), community-based, and oral motor. Individual, group and classroom based intervention may include  receptive and expressive language, articulation and phonology, literacy support, sign language, discrete trial training, AAC, auditory processing, dysphagia, pragmatics-social language, fluency, voice, and prompt.

    Vision Services

    A certified Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) provides assessment and individualized specialized instruction and/or consultative services to meet the unique educational needs specific to vision loss.  The TVI collaborates with team members to create effective environmental and curriculum related adaptations to support the development of independence, self-advocacy, classroom participation, visual functioning abilities and/or compensatory strategies. The TVI may provide accessible materials such as large print or braille and facilitate the use of adaptive technology. Support and resources are provided to families and the school community.
